The return of Lord JE!!!! (part 2)

Without the sultans harassing the right flanks, food supply and iron finally reached the settlement. Now Lord JE was able to concentrate on his left flank. Those pesky slaves sent by the caliphs are now quickly becoming arrow fodders. The crossbowmen guarding the eastern walls, now bolstered with reinforcements from the right flank rained the slaves with bolts. Fire ballistas are now being constructed in large scale now that resources are finally coming in. The fire ballistas are now able to deal with the opposing siege engines, saving the walls and towers from any severe damages.

Without the support of the sultans, the attacking parties are weakened. Waves after waves of Arabic troops were repelled by rains of arrows. The caliphs are running out of slaves. Lord JE, in his wisdom saw this inevitable event and launch an assault on the caliph in the east. Lord JE deployed trebuchets to bring down a section of the walls. Upon the wall collapses, Lord JE's main force stormed into the fort, slaughtering all those who dare stand in their way. The caliph, in his last defiance fought till the last breath before succumbing to the merciful arms of death.

Victory was now within grasp. Fired by the taste of victory, Lord JE continued on the offensive. Rather than attacking the remaining caliph, Lord JE maneuvered to the southwest. To hasten victory, Lord JE hired a large group of mercenaries to reinforce his army. The hired arms, mainly consists of horse archers are well known for their mobility. While these horsemen surrounds Saladin's fortress, trebuchets bombard the walls and towers. Once again fire ballistas are used to set the place on fire. Faced with this sudden onslaught, Saladin's numerous troops are burned to death. Those that dare stormed out of the gatehouse was easily picked off by Lord JE's mercenaries. No survivors lived to tell the deadly effectiveness of Lord JE's military prowess.

The last surviving caliph panicked upon hearing the news. He fortified his position and concentrated on defending. Lord JE returned the earlier favors by destroying all outlying buildings before surrounding the caliph's fort. The last remaining slaves are put out of their miseries with arrows pierced to their mortal flesh. The remaining guards retreat to defend their master. Rather to face death than their master's wrath, they fought. However, their numbers are small. Lord JE justly showed the amount of mercy the caliph and his men deserved..... none.

The victory are temporary. More foes are still awaiting in the crusader trail. More battles awaits Lord JE. Situations that will undoubtedly test his military knowledge and management skills to the extreme. May the wisdoms of the 8 chinese military classics and Mongol art of war be sufficient to guide Lord JE to final victory.
