Playing chess once more

In the evening, ECCENTRIC played 2 rounds of chess in the internet. After months of inaction, he finally get to lay his hands on chess again. Both games had a time control of 20 minutes. ECCENTRIC played the white pieces in both games.

In the first game, ECCENTRIC played the aggressive Queen's Gambit and gained good initiative in the opening. Things are progressing fine until the endgame when he made a terrible blunder. In order to save the game, he had to sacrifice his queen to prevent checkmate. Despite that horrible mistake, the game is still playable as ECCENTRIC had gained a positional advantage over his opponent. With 2 passed pawns nearing promotion and a rook against a queen and a pawn. It took all of ECCENTRIC's tactical ability to limp on in the game, dragging the game to 107 moves. Eventually ECCENTRIC lost all his pieces and only the king remained, escaping against the opponents queen and king. However, ECCENTRIC is able to win because his opponent ran out of time.

In the second game against another opponent, the opponent retaliated with Benoni Defense, thus avoiding the aggressive queen's Gambit. However, ECCENTRIC has played such game with a state player before. Back then, he lost the game to that tough opponent but had since then analyzed this opening and is ready for such rematches. ECCENTRIC practically forced his opponent into a very cramped position, squeezing the space out of his opponent. In the middle game, the opponent made a terrible mistake by keeping a closed game. If he had opened up the centre by exchanging pieces, his odd of winning would have been better. Too bad for the opponent for ECCENTRIC is superbly good at close games, being able to defeat a Master before in such games. Thus, relying on his time management and close game strategies, ECCENTRIC is able to gain an easy victory.

It's been a long time since ECCENTRIC had such excitement. Those fear of defeat, the fast pumping heart, those adrenaline, the never give up spirit, the focus...... all such raw emotions had never been felt by him for months now no thanks to his stupid time consuming studies. The strategies and senses are flooding back to the mind now. ECCENTRIC is himself once more.
