Challenged by FATE itself part 5

If my laptop had been a battlefield, this would most probably the response from my antivirus commander: " We are under heavy fire!!! We are surrounded and in danger of being overrun!!! Requesting support and reinforcements now!!!! " And u'll most probably hear all kind of screams and explosion sounds during the radio transmission. Now let's see why this things happened.

Ok, let's back track to the events few weeks ago. Everyone noes how deadly those viruses are in our campus. So deadly that almost all antivirus cannot detect or combat them effectively. I happen to borrow my pendrive to one of my group members and some of those viruses were transfered into my com. I know there is viruses but my antivirus at that time couldn't detect it. Reason: external drive icons changed to folder icons (thus u noe somethin is wrong)

But then, things are still manageable. Then for the next few weeks, copying notes from the AEK1 com makes things worse. Imagine when opening Mozilla firefox a warning will pop-up saying it is an unknown application. Thus i know swift action must be undertaken. Accidently, one of my housemates is buying Kaspersky antivirus.

After using it for a few days, nothing much was detected (around 50-60 threats) until this morning.........

Geng leh?

I dun noe why it can't be detected in all the scans that i've run previously, but this numbers is hiding inside my com??? Unbelievable!!! Even with the best antivirus, it still couldn't be detected in full scans. (Dun ask me why, it just suddenly popped up when i'm not using the laptop) Maybe i just haven't familiarize with kaspersky.

Thus, after almost 2 hours of do-or-die battle, me and my com have emerged victorious. Disinfecting, deleting, quarantining, rebooting com but finally, things get back in control. Peace has finally been restored.
